Welcome to the MotoMMP site! This is where I will be writing updates and information about my major multimedia project for university.

You can find out a bit more about this project in the about me section but here is a brief introduction.

I'm Eden, a 20-year old sports journalism student who has a view of working in motorsports after graduation. I am a massive fan of motorcycle racing and I have been watching MotoGP since 2020, when I found out about the sport through online friends made during the pandemic and I have been hooked ever since. I've been to the British Grand Prix at Silverstone for the last three years and have been lucky enough to meet some of my heroes - including our very own Jake Dixon back in 2023! (We're in the picture below).

However, the one thing I have noticed as a fan of the sport is there seems to be a lack of interaction with it in my country (the United Kingdom) despite having arguably some of the most recognisable and successful names in the sport's history. Despite the popularity of its counterparts WorldSBK and BSB, MotoGP has struggled to make an impact and viewership has dropped off since the pandemic - and I'm here to try and figure out why.

The idea of this project is to take a deep dive into the history of British motorcycle racing and to uncover what stops riders in the country from being unable to reach the top of grand prix motorcycling despite success in Superbikes, as well as the things that are being done to change this.
